The Punch has reported that the Governors of Rivers, Osun, and Taraba—Siminalayi Fubara, Ademola Adeleke, and Cephas Agbu—did not attend the Ibadan convention of the Peoples Democratic Party that was held on Saturday.

The party’s Deputy National Youth Leader, Timothy Osadolor, while reacting to this development suggested that their absence could indicate a potential exit from the party.

Meanwhile, the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, stated that Kefas is expected to join the party on Wednesday, November 19. Adeleke and Fubara are also reportedly considering leaving the PDP.

While he was speaking with Sunday PUNCH, Osadolor said, “We should not blame Governor Adeleke and others who are not in Ibadan if they are on their way out of the party.”

Timothy Osadolor criticized the gathering in Ibadan, describing it as an attempt by Adeleke’s colleagues to undermine his second-term bid and destabilize the party on whose platform they were elected. He said the convention was legally void, asserting that it had no recognition in the eyes of the law due to the absence of INEC officials.

Osadolor questioned how the organizers could expect INEC to recognize the individuals they selected and urged them to apologize to those they had lured to Ibadan to avoid further embarrassment. He added that the governors who boycotted the event acted wisely. View, More,
