The lawmaker representing Ekiti state and Senate leader, Opeyemi Bamidele has reacted to report that members of the Nigerian Senate are planning to remove the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio from office.
The reaction of Opeyemi Bamidele was contained in a report that was published on the official X handle of DAILY POST on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
In the report that surfaced online, the Senate leader described the story as false and misleading. He said the report is the handwork of mischief makers. Opeyemi Bamidele stated that Godswill Akpabio remains the President of the Senate and there is no plan to remove him.
The Senate leader said reports of such nature are meant to create confusion and members of the Senate will not be distracted from pressing issues affecting the nation.

“There was no attempt by any of our colleagues, nor any discussion about removing the Senate President from office.
