In a recent video from 12:03, Prominent publisher Dele Momodu has alleged that the current administration is using state institutions, including security agencies and anti-corruption bodies, to harass political opponents and force them into submission.
He claimed that defections of politicians to the ruling party are not natural but are driven by coercion from a president who controls key levers of power, including the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and anti-graft agencies.
Momodu added that many politicians within the ruling party privately express dissatisfaction with the state of affairs but are too afraid of the consequences to speak out publicly.
He said:
“Why won’t it be part of the game where one man controls the military, controls the DSS, controls ICPC, controls uh what’s the other one you know all of them… even judiciary is being threatened in underground manner. So how do you have all that power concentrated in one man and then look I have friends across political divides and I know what we discuss majority of my friends are in APC if you hear what they say behind ah we can’t talk or if we talk ah we will be in trouble.”
