According to a report that was published by DAILY POST on Tuesday, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide under the leadership of Mazi Okwu Nnabuike has reacted after former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo said the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu and other INEC leaders should be sacked.

Speaking at the Chinua Achebe Leadership Forum held at Yale University in USA, Olusegun Obasanjo said Nigeria must appoint new and credible INEC officials.

He said;

“Nigeria must ensure the appointment of new credible INEC leadership at the federal, state, local government, city, town, and village levels with short tenures to prevent undesirable political influence and corruption”.

Reacting, Mazi Okwu said results were written at government houses during the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo.

According to DAILY POST, Okwu said;

“Results were written at government houses and politicians’ houses. ‘Go to court’ was popularized under Obasanjo’s leadership, where all that mattered was for INEC to declare the president’s preferred candidate winner, and those crying were expected to go to court”.
