The Senator representing Ebonyi North, Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi has condemned the words of the former minister for Education and renowned economist Oby Ezekwesili during their verbal exchange at the Senate. According to his statements which were shared by VANGUARD, he pointed out that he will report her to the Igbo traditional leadership because he respected women and cannot talk to them in that manner.
The verbal combat between Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi and Oby Ezekwesili at the Senate during Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Senate ethics committee hearing on her petition against senator Godswill Akpabio had been a source of major concern to the Senator.
Days after the heated exchange, the Ebonyi State senator was yet to get over the confrontations as he made it known that he will take stringent actions against the former minister for Education.
According to his statements which were made available to the general public by news outlet, VANGUARD today being Monday the 31st day of March 2025, the embittered Senator made it known that he will report Oby Ezekwesili to Igbo Leaders for disrespect and unprecedented attack on his person.
According to the Senator, he does not talk to women in that manner, not even his wife because he respects them.

“I am going to take her up within the Igbo traditional leadership because it has never happened,” Nwaebonyi stated. “As a person, I can’t talk to my wife like that in public. I can’t talk to my driver like that in public. I can’t talk to any woman like that. I have never done that in my life. I respect women.” he said.
