In an interview on Symfoni TV from 16:20, Chief Dan Ulasi, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made a strong claim about the outcome of the 2023 presidential election, asserting that Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi, was the true winner of the poll.

Chief Ulasi said, “Honestly, Peter Obi won that 2023 election. I can privately and authoritatively say so. He had 6.7 million votes; I think Atiku had 6.2 million votes. The president won with eight-something million, even after all the nonsense that happened in Lagos State and most places in the North. They suppressed his vote, and I did warn him. In fact, about four weeks ago, he was in my house, and then I said, ‘Nothing has changed. People are prepared to vote for you, but you have to be prepared to take care of them to protect your vote because if you don’t protect your vote, you’re not going anywhere. He’s the only one who can effectively and positively challenge this government and win.’”

The PDP stalwart, who once served as the party chairman in Anambra State, criticized the conduct of the 2023 election, alleging that widespread irregularities and voter suppression affected the results in several parts of the country.

Ulasi revealed that he had recently advised Peter Obi to prepare ahead of the 2027 presidential election by ensuring that his votes are properly defended this time around.

According to him, the same structures that allegedly undermined the 2023 polls still exist and could resurface if not addressed.

He maintained that despite the challenges faced during the last election, Obi remains the only political figure capable of uniting Nigerians and mounting a strong, credible challenge to the current administration. See, More, Here>>>
