Edward Onoja, the former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, has urged former Anambra State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to adopt a more statesmanlike approach in addressing national issues.

Speaking in an interview with Arise TV from 26:31, Onoja said Obi often reels out figures and statistics about insecurity without showing empathy, especially when incidents occur in the South East.

He accused Obi of sounding more like an agitator than a national leader, stressing that security challenges require measured responses and responsible leadership.

In Onoja’s words:

“His Excellency Peter Obi should do more of being a statesman than trying to incite. It’s a security issue, I know, and he’s been a governor before and issues around security, he understands. It’s been too constant reeling out data and statistics. Leadership and governance does boil down to some empathy in southeastern Nigeria today. But he seems to be numb when those things occur around that axis.” Explore , More , News>>>
