In an interview on Channels Television from 17:58, Peter Ameh, former Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, recently discussed the upcoming 2027 elections in an interview. He emphasized that political parties, including the PDP, are seeking credible candidates to lead them.
He said, “No, the issue about the PDP, the issue about the ADC, and the LP is about people and parties looking for a credible candidate who can deliver the election for them in 2027. So when the PDP is actually calling for Peter Obi, it’s not even a hidden secret. These are no longer secrets.”
When asked about Goodluck Jonathan’s interest in running, Ameh affirmed that it is Jonathan’s right to run for office. However, he questioned whether Jonathan has the public appeal needed to succeed, pointing out that voters are looking for candidates who can effectively manage government costs.
“It is Jonathan’s fundamental right to run. But you know today, what is there? It’s a person who has the momentum, the person who has the public appeal, the person that people feel will be able to cut down the cost of government,” Ameh replied.
