APC Chieftain, Honourable Cletus Obun, has accused former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, of failing to practice what he preaches regarding production, a concept he frequently emphasizes as essential to reviving Nigeria’s economy.
In an interview aired on TrustTV News on Tuesday, Obun argued that despite Obi’s consistent calls for Nigeria to shift from a consumption-based economy to a production-driven one, he has never led or anchored any tangible production initiative as a businessman.
“Peter Obi who has been a Governor and tells us to move from consumption to production has shown no production in his entire business career. He buys and sell, where is his factory?, is there no land in his village in Anambra to build one small factory.”
Obun went on to question Obi’s impact on technical education during his tenure as Governor of Anambra State. He challenged him to point out any meaningful production that came out of the state’s technical schools and polytechnics under his administration.
According to Obun, Obi, who actively promotes production as a national goal, has not spearheaded any significant production enterprise, either in public office or private business.
“Where is the production, what was produced in the technical schools and polytechnics that were in Anambra, what did he put there?. He said we became number one, in passing WAEC, after WAEC what else?. What was the production in WAEC.”
Obun concluded by asserting that Peter Obi’s words should not be trusted by Nigerians who are genuinely seeking progress for the nation.
