In a fiery response to Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s recent taunt, Dr. Moses Paul, an aide to Labour Party leader Peter Obi, has accused the senator of political hypocrisy. Akpabio had challenged Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate, to resolve internal crises within the Labour Party (LP) before aspiring to lead Nigeria, questioning his capacity to tackle national issues like insecurity.
The comments, made amid rising political tensions ahead of the 2027 elections, sparked a heated rebuttal on X.
Here is what he wrote on his official X handle
Dr. Paul dismissed Akpabio’s critique, arguing that the senator, whose political career is marred by betrayals and backdoor deals, lacks the moral standing to lecture Obi—a figure whose name ignites hope nationwide. He emphasized that no amount of orchestrated chaos within the LP, including alleged bribery and division, can erase the will of Nigerians. “The people are awake,” Paul declared, sharing a powerful image of Obi backed by a crowd holding a banner with the same message, alongside the Nigerian flag.
Paul highlighted Obi’s enduring relevance, noting that attempts to distract him from national conversations have failed. He pointed to Nigeria’s pressing issues—hunger, joblessness, and broken systems—as evidence against the current leadership, including Akpabio. Paul warned that Nigerians are watching and will respond with their votes, signaling a growing movement for change led by Obi’s vision.
