Osekola Obaze, a Nigerian politician and author, has expressed his disappointment after some Obidients endorsed Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Edo State, pledging 100,000 votes.

According to Tribune, less than 72 hours to the Edo State Governorship election, the Obedients support group for the 2023 Presidential Labour Party’s (LP), Peter Obi, have endorsed Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate.

Obaze took to his X page to react to the news, stating that Obidient is a brand inspired and driven by Peter Obi, and therefore, any endorsement without Obi’s approval is unacceptable. He emphasized that Obidients should only support candidates endorsed by Peter Obi.

Obaze wrote;

“Just read of some so-called Obidients endorsing the Edo PDP candidate. That’s not right! Obidient is a Brand Inspired and Driven by @PeterObi. So why would any Obidient endorse anyone PO has not endorsed. Such Dis-Obidience can’t be tolerated. You’re Obidient or You’re Not!”.
