Sumaila Kawa, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, has voiced concerns about the long-standing tension between the National Assembly and former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He highlighted that this misunderstanding, which dates back to 2005, has significantly impacted their relationship.

He further alleged that it was Obasanjo’s administration that introduced corruption into the National Assembly. He claimed to have proof that members of the National Assembly were influenced by Obasanjo’s government and associates in efforts to amend the constitution for the former president’s benefit.

He said in an interview with Channels TV from 28:31, “National Assembly and I cannot in any way understand ourselves, because there has been a misunderstanding between the national assembly and Obasanjo since 2005 and when you are talking about corruption, it is Obasanjo who introduced corruption to the national assembly.

I have proof because he’s the one or it is his government and associate who corrupted some members of the national assembly for them to have extension or alter the constitution for him by giving them money , but some of us stood against him. All Obasanjo is doing is to captivate the mind of people because he knows it is very sensitive.”….VìêwMorê
