Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike recently reacted to the comments from a faction of the Labour Party that former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi was an ‘Uber’ politician. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, the reasons behind the jab were disclosed by Lere Olayinka.

The former governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi was once again in the spotlight for the wrong reasons after a faction of the Labour Party threw a serious swipe at him.

According to the statements from a factional member of the party, the former Anambra governor was an ‘Uber’ politician. This, was a reference to his incessant movements across different political parties.

Reacting, Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike made the disclosure on his official X handle on Friday August 15th, 2025.

According to his statements, it can be deduced that the jab was as a result of Peter Obi’s meddling with the forthcoming bye elections in Anambra State.

The serious jab thrown at the former governor however, indicated that even among his own political party and home state, the resentment towards his presidential ambitions was well alive.

However, the description was well ignored by supporters of the former governor, especially from the Obidient Movement.
