Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike recently reacted after former transportation minister and ADC coalition Chieftain, Rotimi Amaechi challenged his fellow ADC presidential ticket hopefuls to test their popularity. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that Amaechi’s comments had a cryptic undertone.

The former governor of Rivers State and transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi generated controversies after he shared his thoughts on several national matters during a highly monitored interaction on X Spaces on Saturday.

However, one of his striking comments was the challenge thrown to fellow ADC coalition presidential ticket hopefuls to test their popularities in the primaries. According to the former governor, if they believed they were popular, let them contest in the primaries.

“If you believe you are popular, come and win primaries.” Rotimi Amaechi had said during the interaction.

Reacting, Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike re-echoed Amaechi’s comments and made a striking remark.

According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he disclosed that the comment which Amaechi made, urging his fellow ADC presidential ticket hopefuls to ascertain their popularity had a cryptic undertone.

This came amid the jostle for the ADC presidential ticket between Amaechi, former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, 2023 Labour Party presidential flag-bearer, Peter Obi and Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna State.
