A chieftain of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Anthony Sani, has stated that there is nothing unusual about Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi working together again, as reported by PUNCH.

Sani explained that the two politicians had previously teamed up in 2019 under the Peoples Democratic Party.

Although they lost that election, he believes it is not strange to see them trying again.

He noted that the idea of Atiku and Obi forming another alliance should not shock anyone.

According to him, politics often brings people together for common goals.

Sani said that whether the alliance will be stronger this time depends on several factors.

One of them is the growing cooperation between the North-West and South-West, the regions with the highest number of voters in the country.

He also mentioned that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is gaining support in the South-South region, this, he said, could influence the success of any new coalition.

Sani added that these developments are part of democratic progress.

He said that shifting alliances and political deals are normal in a democracy and should not be surprising to the public.

“Such arrangement by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi would surprise no one, especially when regard is paid to the fact that the duo was on the same team in PDP in 2019, albeit the team did not prevail in the elections,” he said.
