Farouk Adamu Aliyu, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has issued a bold assurance regarding the 2027 presidential election, declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s return to power is inevitable.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Aliyu dismissed doubts over Tinubu’s political future, stressing that his loyalty and financial commitment to the President’s cause remain unwavering.

“Nothing will stop Tinubu from coming back, even if I have to invest over six billion naira in my village to ensure it,” Aliyu stated emphatically, underlining his belief that grassroots mobilization is key to securing the President’s second term.

The Zamfara-born politician, who has long been an influential figure within the APC, insisted that Tinubu’s leadership is the best chance for Nigeria’s democracy to stabilize and thrive. He pointed to his personal financial sacrifices as proof of his dedication, arguing that in regions like his, politics is often sustained by visible investments in local communities.

Aliyu further downplayed the possibility of serious opposition threats in Zamfara, asserting that rival blocs lacked the numbers to challenge APC dominance in the state. “There are no one million votes in Zamfara definitely,” he remarked confidently, dismissing the idea that the opposition could sway the electorate.

His remarks reflect a broader confidence within APC circles that Tinubu’s ongoing reforms — including revenue growth, exchange rate adjustments, and economic restructuring — will strengthen his case for re-election despite widespread criticism of his administration’s handling of security and economic challenges.

However, Aliyu’s admission that he would be willing to spend billions in one community to secure political loyalty has drawn sharp reactions. Critics argue that such comments expose the entrenched role of money in Nigeria’s electoral system, raising concerns about vote-buying and the erosion of democratic principles.

Civil society groups have long warned that excessive monetization of politics undermines fair competition and weakens the voice of ordinary voters. Political observers also note that while Tinubu enjoys strong backing in the North, worsening economic conditions and public discontent could complicate APC’s path in 2027.

Still, Aliyu’s declaration stands as a clear signal of APC’s determination to consolidate power. His repeated vow — “Nothing will stop Tinubu from coming back” — underscores both his personal resolve and the party’s broader strategy to secure victory at all costs.
