Communications Consultant, Ibrahim Garba has advised that the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, should have maintained composure and restraint after his arrest to properly navigate the legal process.

Speaking during an interview on TVC News from 4:42, Garba reflected on the series of events following Kanu’s arrest and the subsequent charges filed against him by the Federal Government. According to him, the most reasonable expectation from the IPOB leader after being taken into custody was to remain calm and allow the law to take its course.

“When he was arrested and brought in to face these charges, all that would have been expected from Nnamdi Kanu is to be calm,” Garba said.

He explained that tension and defiance often complicate legal and political cases of such magnitude, especially when they carry national and international attention. Garba noted that calmness would not only have projected maturity but also strengthened Kanu’s position before both the courts and public opinion.

The consultant further argued that leadership comes with the responsibility to exercise restraint, even in the face of provocation or perceived injustice. He emphasized that Kanu’s ability to remain composed could have created an opportunity for constructive dialogue between the government and his followers.

“Calmness doesn’t mean weakness; it’s a strategy that helps to achieve better outcomes, especially when dealing with state institutions,” Garba added.
