Renowned constitutional lawyer, Professor Auwalu Yadudu, has said that he believes that if the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) is granted bail, he will still jump it.

According to the report by Daily Trust, Yadudu said that Nnamdi Kanu was granted bail before under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, but he jumped it.

Professor Yadudu said this in reaction to the report that the South-East leaders and elders are lobbying to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

Sources in the presidency said that pressure is intensifying on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu, and that the IPOB leader may be released soon.

Yadudu said that if the South-East leaders are looking for a solution to the issue, then they must engage in political conversations and give their commitment.

He said that he hopes that those who are pushing for Kanu’s release would mean business and that they would also be able to keep their own part of the bargain.

Speaking further, he said they had obtained for Kanu in the past, but at the end of the day, everything was back to square one.

Professor Yadudu who was a former legal adviser to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, said, “If you want to find a reconciliatory way to end matters, I think engaging in political discussions, getting commitments from all sides, and concretizing that through the appearance to discontinue would be the best option. But if they grant him bail, I think the young man will still jump it, and then we will go back to square one.”…..Seë_Morë
