In a recent interview with TVC News, Maryam Abacha, widow of the late General Sani Abacha, stated that Nigeria experienced peace and stability during her husband’s time as Head of State. She reflected on the country’s state under his leadership and criticized how successive administrations have portrayed his legacy.

“Nigeria was in peace when Abacha was the Head of State,” she asserted.

Maryam Abacha also expressed discontent over narratives suggesting that her late husband looted public funds. She questioned the credibility of such claims, attributing them to what she described as manipulative tactics by later governments.

“That’s what previous administrations told Nigerians, that a lot of Nigeria’s money was taken out and kept overseas. And because Nigerians are fools, they listen to everything,” she said, expressing frustration over what she believes is blind acceptance of unverified information.
