There have been several reactions from social media users after the former Director General of the Obi-Datti 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, Doyin Okupe shared a video and titled it “Why Peter Obi lost 2023 presidential election” on his page.
In the viral video from 8:40, he said the Labour Party lost the election but many people still don’t want to agree. Stating the reason why Peter Obi lost the election, he said the Labour Party had no structure going into the election. He said another reason is that the party had no polling agents in more than 80% of the polling boots across the nation.
Doyin Okupe said that;
Obi and I went into the election but we lost. People are saying that I shouldn’t say we lost but the truth remains that we lost the election. They said APC rigged. Which party did not rig? Which election has not been rigged since 1999? I took part in all the elections since 1999 till date. Was Tinubu the one contesting in all the elections? We have a bad system, but we must look into it properly and reform it for our own good so that judges won’t be the ones to determine the President or the Governor after an election. We lost because we didn’t have a structure to cover the country. We didn’t have polling agents in more than 80% polling boots in the country”.
