In an interview on TVC from 2:08, political analyst and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Segun Sowunmi lambasted the ruling All Progressives Congress for what he described as tolerating indiscipline within its ranks.
His comments were particularly directed at Senator Ali Ndume, a prominent APC lawmaker. Sowunmi did not mince words when expressing his disapproval of the lawmaker’s actions and the party’s tolerance for them.
“The kind of thing that my party allows there is the kind of nonsense they allow with Ndume,” Sowunmi stated during the interview. “If I were the chairman of APC, I would have expelled him.”
Though he did not specify the exact behavior or incident that warranted such criticism, Sowunmi’s remarks suggest growing frustration among opposition figures regarding what they perceive as the APC’s inability or unwillingness to discipline its senior members.
Senator Ndume has been a controversial figure in Nigerian politics, known for his outspoken nature and frequent clashes within the legislative chambers. His most recent actions have once again placed him at the center of public and political scrutiny.
Sowunmi’s statement has sparked reactions online, with some praising his candor while others accuse him of politicizing internal matters of another party. However, the PDP stalwart insists that leadership demands accountability, regardless of party lines.
