Lere Olayinka, the special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike has slammed those who opined that Lagos State does not belong to any specific ethnic group. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he admonished them to contest for the seat of traditional rulers in Lagos State when next their seats became vacant.
Following the renaming of ‘Charly Boy Bus Stop’, a popular bus stop in Lagos state to ‘Baddo Bus Stop’, a lot of mixed reactions were generated as many believed the move was tribally motivated.
However, while many held that the renaming had nothing to do with ethnicity, others came hard on the state government, asserting that Lagos state was a no man’s land, and belonged to everybody.
In light of this, Lere Olayinka, the special adviser to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, made a startling comment.

In his arguments, he pointed out the the Oba of Lagos, Osolo of Isolo, Olu of Mushin amongst several others were Yoruba titles, hence, the state belonged to a specific ethnic group.
