The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has alleged that in the Ministry of Interior, President Bola Tinubu rectified a significant backlog in officer promotions, addressing stagnation that spanned from six to twelve years, promoting 32,000 officers in a single day.

He also highlighted that the President encountered a lack of peculiar and rent allowances for officers, which he promptly rectified and significantly improved their living conditions. He urged Nigerians to exercise patience, comparing the current challenges to the darkest part of the night, which is just before dawn. He called on stakeholders, statesmen, and patriots to unite in supporting the administration, expressing optimism that these efforts would soon yield positive outcomes for the country.

He said in an interview with TVC from 15:23, ”Mr President didn’t wait for protest for him to be able to come up with the student loan. He didn’t wait for protest to remove taxes and levies for even the food items. For instance in the Ministry of Interior, we have achieved a lot of things. When we came on board, we met huge backlog of promotion of officers. Some people were stagnated for 12,10,8 to 6 years without promotion. But Tinubu promoted 32,000 officers in one day, he didn’t wait for protest to do that.

When he came on board, he met a scenario where by there was no peculiar allowance and there was no rent allowance for officers. And he paid for these rent allowances to make life easier for the workers. Mr President did not wait for protest to be able to invest massively in terms of road infrastructure. We are pleading with Nigerians to please be patient. The darkest part of the Night is closest to day break, we are at a verge when stakeholders, statesman and Patriots must unite and support this administration.”….Sêe_Morē
