During an interview with TVC, lawyer and human rights advocate Monday Ubani weighed in on the ongoing dispute between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Ubani pointed out that Senator Natasha was seen taking selfies and speaking favorably about Akpabio just days after accusing him of sexual harassment, casting doubt on the credibility of her allegations. He argued that her claims lacked substantive evidence and appeared more aimed at stirring public sentiment through social media rather than presenting a solid legal case.
Ubani further contended that the leaked audio of Senator Natasha suggested a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputations of both Senate President Akpabio and President Bola Tinubu. According to him, the tone and content of the recording implied a broader strategy to discredit key figures in the administration rather than seek justice or accountability.
According to him, “You have a relationship with this person; you were seen taking selfies, you were seen praising the same man a day after the so-called sexual harassment. After saying all that, you then instigate the public — which is what is going on. You go to social media and instigate the public. If you listen to the leaked audio, it’s about just pushing the story so that the public will be against Akpabio, the government, and President Bola Tinubu.
