Femi Ojudu, a former senator, has spoken about an encounter between his son and Bola Tinubu, who was then the Governor of Lagos State.

In an interview with Edmund Obilo on Splash FM 1055, Ojudu said he took his two young sons along with him to Tinubu’s house in either 2001 or 2002. He said when they arrived, Tinubu came down to greet them. Ojudu said one of his sons stretched out his hand to shake Tinubu and Tinubu told him, “Is that the way you are going to greet me? I am the governor of Lagos State”

Ojudu said his son who was only five years old at the time boldly told Tinubu, “And so what? You want me to knock my head on the ground because you are governor?” Ojudu said in that moment, he knew his son had inherited his boldness and fearless attitude.

In Ojudu’s words: “In year 2001 or 2002 I went visiting him on January 1 with my two sons. One of them is a lawyer now and the other one is an accountant. We just walked in there and he came down so one of the boys just stretched his hands to shake him and he said, ‘Is that the way you are going to greet me? I am the governor of Lagos State’ And the boy said, ‘And so what? You want me to knock my head on the ground because you are governor?’ He was 5 years old. I said this boy is his father’s son.
