Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that his second son, who holds a Master’s degree in Economics from King’s College, has chosen to pursue a career in real estate.
Wike made this known during an interview on Channels Television from 1:25, where he spoke about the career paths of his children and the importance of supporting young people to follow their passions.
“My second son finished from King’s College, Master’s Degree in Economics. He told me he wants to be on real estate. I said okay, you have to move to somewhere to learn,” Wike said.
The former Rivers State governor explained that while many parents often dictate career choices for their children, he has come to understand that allowing them to follow their own aspirations leads to better fulfillment and productivity.
Wike noted that his son’s decision reflects the growing interest of young Nigerians in real estate development as a viable business sector, especially in the face of rising urbanization and housing demand. He added that he encouraged his son to seek professional training and practical experience in the field to acquire the necessary expertise.
According to the minister, real estate and agriculture, the fields his two sons have chosen, represent key drivers of economic growth and employment generation. He stressed that Nigerian youths should focus on industries that create value rather than depend solely on white-collar jobs. View, More,
