The former governor of Ebonyi state and current Minister of Works, Dave Umahi has stated that during the construction of the East-West Road, his property was also demolished.

This statement was contained in a report that was published by channels TV on Sunday.

He made the statement while replying a woman who claimed she campaigned for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.

The woman said the coastal road was diverted into her estate in Lagos and all her houses were demolished despite having the necessary certificates and authorisations from the government.

Reacting to the statement, the Minister of Works stated that during the construction of a road in Port Harcourt, his property was demolished. Dave Umahi said similar thing happened to his property in Aba too.

He was quoted as saying that;

“In Port Harcourt, my property was also involved in the construction of East-West Road, totally demolished. In Aba, my property was also involved. Please, bear with me and know that we have nothing to benefit or hide”.
