Nigerian gospel artiste Adeyinka Oluwatobi, better known by her stage name Nifemi Gold, has narrated the painful experience of being sexually assaulted by her former producer, recounting how the ordeal unfolded and how it continues to affect her life.
During an interview featured on Wasilacoded TV’s official YouTube channel on Friday, August 22, 2025, the singer disclosed that her producer entered her bedroom uninvited, locked the door behind him, and forcefully abused her.
Explaining further, she said that on the night of the incident, she instructed the children living with her not to close the door so they could check on her occasionally because of her fragile health condition.
Around midnight, the children visited her room to wish her a happy birthday and later left. Lying face down due to her spinal injury, she suddenly heard her door creak open.
Believing it was one of the children, she called out but received no answer. Moments later, the producer appeared and overpowered her.
Nifemi revealed that the assault happened in front of her child, who tried hitting the man to stop him. However, the producer held the child by both arms and warned that since the door was locked, nobody would hear her cries.
She recalled crying uncontrollably as the violence worsened her spinal cord condition, causing lasting pain.
She further stated that after the incident, the producer phoned a pastor, who threatened her with death if she ever disclosed what had happened.
Refusing to succumb to fear, Nifemi said she placed everything in God’s hands, trusting Him to judge between her and the man who wronged her.
