The former governor of Anambra state has reacted after he was criticized for wishing former military Head of State, Yakubu Gowon on his birthday.

His reaction was contained in a post that he titled, “Why I congratulated Yakubu Gowon at 90” on his official X handle.

In the post that Peter Obi shared on his page, he said In all his dealings with human beings, he tries to be guided by his faith as a Christian.

The former governor of Anambra state said forgiveness usually sets people free but hate will hold someone down.

“Must you greet him?
