‎‎Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has revealed that northern political leaders are planning to remove the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in 2027, as reported by Daily Post on Monday, 28 July, 2025.

‎Lawal said the coalition includes key figures from the North who are unhappy with President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

‎He said the group is working quietly but seriously.

‎Their goal is to ensure that the APC does not win a second term in the next general election.

‎Lawal blamed the Tinubu administration for neglecting the people who supported him during the 2023 elections.

‎He said many Muslims who voted for Tinubu now feel betrayed.

‎According to him, Tinubu’s appointments since taking office have divided the country instead of uniting it.

‎He said the president’s choices are not fair to all regions and religious groups.

‎He claimed that the Muslim community, especially in the North, feels alienated.

He added that these voters now feel embarrassed and underdeveloped.

‎Lawal also said that the president has not rewarded the loyalty of those who supported him.

‎Instead, he believes the government is creating disunity through selective appointments.

‎He described the current administration as one that lacks proper direction.

‎He added that the dissatisfaction in the North is growing, and political leaders are already preparing for 2027.

‎“The Muslims that voted for him, he has alienated them, he has embarrassed them, and underdeveloped them. Northern leaders working to unseat APC in 2027,” he said.
