President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that wages should be adjusted every two or three years and not five years.
The statement was posted on the official X handle of Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy.
According to Onanuga, the President made the statement during the meeting that he held with members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC, at the State House on Thursday.
During the meeting, President Tinubu urged the Nigeria Labour Congress to accept the negotiated N62,000 as the first baby step in resolving the minimum wage issue. He suggested that further reviews can be done if the minimum wage law is reviewed.
