Ali Ndume, a senator from Borno State, has spoken about the recent coordinated suicide bomb attacks in Gwoza.
In a recent report shared by The Sun, Senator Ndume sponsored a motion where he described the bravery of the Joint Task Force (JTF) during the attacks. He said when the fourth suicide bomber attempted to detonate her explosive, the JTF confronted her but unfortunately, one of the soldiers from Southern Nigeria lost his life in the process. He said despite their efforts, the bomber managed to detonate her explosive.
Ndume said the military successfully captured the fifth suicide bomber before she could detonate her bomb. He said when she was taken into custody and interrogated, she revealed that she was willing to die because she believed it would take her to heaven. He said this statement highlighted the extent of the indoctrination and radicalization these individuals have undergone.
In Ndume’s words: “The military arrested the fifth suicide bomber as she was about to detonate the explosive. She was taken into custody and interrogated by the military. Unfortunately, these people have been indoctrinated. The arrested suicide bomber said she wants to die and go to heaven. That’s how bad it has become”
