The Head of information and Public Affairs, Benson Upah has highlighted the severe challenges confronting manufacturers, whose warehouses are filled with unsold merchandise.
He stated that this predicament persists without any corresponding wage increases for workers, exacerbating the economic strain. He asserted that the prevailing policies have not only contributed to these problems but have actively caused significant harm to the manufacturing sector.
He said in an interview with Arise TV from 9:57, ”Manufacturers are crying that their warehouses are overflowing with unsold items. Up till this moment when these things are happening, wages have not been increased. It is not the policies that have created the problem, it is the policies that have done the damage.
And so these policies have also led to the 40% of the collapse of these businesses. The latest exit of Guinness is another proof of that. And this is a company that has spent 75 years in the country. It’s a toxic environment occasioned by these policies that have caused these issues.”…..Sée Móre
