A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Nsukka, Enugu State, where a man named Ogbonna, also known as Mourinho, allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend, Chisom Ayogu. The victim had gone to Ogbonna’s residence to share news about her upcoming wedding. The meeting took an unfortunate turn, resulting in a violent altercation that ultimately led to Chisom’s death as reported by Vanguard News on 18 May, 2025.
According to reports, Chisom visited Ogbonna at his home on New Anglican Road, Nsukka, with the intention of informing him about her forthcoming marriage. However, their interaction quickly escalated into a disagreement, and Ogbonna assaulted Chisom. Eyewitnesses claim that by the time assistance arrived, Chisom had already fallen into a coma. Despite efforts to rush her to a nearby hospital, she was declared dead upon arrival by medical professionals.
The suspect, Ogbonna, has been taken into custody by the police for questioning. Details surrounding the motive behind Ogbonna’s actions are still unclear.
