The Former Senator who represented the good people of Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted after the Labour Party, LP, asked the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to declare the seat of its defecting Senator, Onyewuchi Ezenwa vacant.

While reacting, Shehu Sani described the position of the Labour Party, LP as a lawful one. He went on and made it known that no Senate President can declare the seat of the senator vacant, noting that the Senator must have consulted with the Senate President and other colleagues before making the public announcement.

Senator Shehu Sani made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Friday evening, while reacting to the report.

He wrote: “The LP wants the Senate President to declare the seat of its defecting Senator vacant. That is the position of the law, but no Senate President can do that because the Senator must have consulted with the SP and other colleagues before making the public announcement.”

It should be recalled that the Labour Party, LP, in Imo State, recently asked the Senate President and the Nigerian Senate to declare the seat of its defecting lawmaker vacant.
