Prince Isaac Umejuru, the Executive Chairman of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, has distributed 11 luxury cars to councillors in his administration as part of efforts to enhance governance and service delivery at the grassroots level.
The official presentation took place during an event marking the chairman’s first 100 days in office, where several other empowerment initiatives were also launched.
Speaking at the event, the chairman emphasized that the distribution of vehicles was aimed at supporting the councillors in their legislative duties, improving mobility, and ensuring effective representation of their constituents.
He reaffirmed his commitment to providing necessary resources for public officials to serve the people effectively.
In addition to the car distribution, the event featured various empowerment programs aimed at improving the livelihoods of residents.
Several women received sewing machines and grinding machines, while motorcycles and tricycles were distributed to young entrepreneurs to promote economic self-reliance.
The Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari, officially presented the cars to the councillors. The Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government, Ehie Edison, also commended the initiative, describing it as a reflection of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s commitment to grassroots development.
The empowerment initiative has been widely praised for its impact on economic growth and governance in the local government area, with expectations that more developmental programs will follow.
