Former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Communication Committee, Bola Bakare, has cast doubt on the credibility of the opposition coalition emerging under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing internal disunity and questionable loyalty even among the party’s key figures.
In an interview reported by *Nigerian Tribune* on Monday, July 14, 2025, Bakare dismissed the ADC’s claim of being a united alternative to the ruling APC and PDP, stating that it lacked the cohesion and structure required for national leadership.
“The ADC does not meet the standard to be called a true coalition party,” Bakare said. “It’s simply a gathering of political figures who are yet to prove that they can work as one.”
When speaking on Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who is reportedly playing a prominent role in the coalition talks, Bakare expressed skepticism about the loyalty he commands, even within his own region.
“Let’s talk about my brother, Peter Obi. His own people didn’t always speak well of him,” Bakare remarked, referencing criticisms Obi has faced in the Southeast and among former allies.
