Tim Osadolor, the Deputy National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed strong support for the recent decision to reduce police escorts assigned to VIPs. He emphasized that Nigeria must begin to adopt a culture where public officials, including the president, move freely without heavy security details.

In a statement published by PUNCH on Friday November 28, 2025, Osadolor criticized the longstanding tradition of shielding leaders with large numbers of police officers. He argued that this practice disconnects them from the realities faced by ordinary citizens.

Osadolor pointed to countries like Denmark and the Netherlands, where top government officials travel with minimal security, as examples Nigeria should emulate. He urged Nigerians to embrace this shift
