President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has admitted to leaving out the names of some notable Nigerians in his Democracy Day broadcast. The statement was made during the commissioning of 100 CNG buses in Kaduna, as seen in a video posted by TVC from 1:19:52. Tinubu said the occasion was a chance to right the wrong and give overdue recognition to those who contributed significantly to the country’s democracy.

He acknowledged that Democracy Day is not just for celebration but also for reflection and appreciation. By recognising individuals who fought for democratic ideals, Tinubu noted, the government reinforces the value of sacrifice and service in building a free and fair society.

According to him, “Let me use this opportunity to correct an omission. Some of those people that I missed out during the June 12 broadcast in the National Assembly are Colonel Danjuma. Today, let me correct that by honouring him with national recognition of CFR. And I thank Shehu Sani, who is also a comrade, for all you’ve done for democracy in this country. May God bless you.”
