According to Vanguard, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has announced that he has signed loan papers amounting to N200 billion from Zenith Bank to finance the construction of the 50.15-kilometer dual carriage Port Harcourt Ring Road. This project was started by his administration and is a key part of their infrastructure plans.
In addition to the ring road, the Fubara also revealed that his administration is embarking on the construction of the Trans-Kalabari Road, which will cost N225.1 billion. He mentioned that this project will be built without taking on additional debt. Furthermore, the government plans to develop general hospitals and a psychiatric hospital in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
During his announcement, the Governor addressed those who have questioned his administration’s efforts, stating, “They even say, they don’t know what we are doing. Let me remind them, it is Fubara that signed the paper to borrow from Zenith Bank the N200billion for the construction of the Port Harcourt Ring Road.”
