The former governor of Anambra State and strong member of the ADC coalition, Peter Obi has taken to his official X handle to send a reminder regarding the campaign promises of president Tinubu in 2022. According to his statements which drew widespread attention from the general public, he pointed out that the president had stated that Nigerians should not vote for him if he failed to provide constant electricity within four years.
Following his return from medical leave, the former governor of Anambra State and erstwhile Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has stirred fresh controversies after he reminded the president of his campaign promises in 2022.
According to the former governor in the recent statements which were shared on his official X handle, the president had promised to provide constant electricity within four years, failure to do this, Nigerians should not vote for him for a second term.
In his arguments, he pointed out that the president has not only failed on his promises, but the impact was too glaring for all Nigerians to forget. He cited reports that pointed out that Nigeria had more people living without electricity.
“The impact is too glaring for Nigerians to forget the promise of Mr President while campaigning on 22nd December 2022 that: ‘If I don’t give you constant electricity in the next 4 years, don’t vote for me for second term.”
“For a nation already stated to have more people living without electricity than anywhere in the world, there could not be any more firm comforting political promises than this..” he wrote.
