Abdul Abiola, the son of the late MKO Abiola, has shared his memories about the day his mother, Kudirat Abiola, was killed in Lagos.

In an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Mic On Podcast from 20:48, Abdul explained that on that day, he had a strong feeling that something bad would happen to his mother. He said he didn’t want to go to school and he wanted to stay with her. He also said he wished he could have been in the car with his mother because if the assassins had seen a child with her, they might not have gone through with the attack

In Abdul’s words: “I wish I was in the car with her, maybe if the assassins had seen a baby in the car they might not have killed her. God knows what could have happened but I wasn’t able to because I was not really the most studious student. I knew my dad had money so I used to tell my teachers to stop disturbing me and teach the other students. My mom knew that and she wanted me to understand that education was very important. So me saying I did not want to go to school that day, she just assumed that I didn’t like school and she forced me to go. I can remember I was crying when I left and that was the last time I saw her”…..Sée Móre
