Senator Sunday Karimi, the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has stated he was at home one day when he saw DSS personnel passing by, and he noticed that their armoured vehicle was riddled with bullet holes.

In an interview with TVC from 22:54, Senator Karimi said he stopped the DSS operatives to ask what had happened and they told him they were attacked in the forest during an operation. He said they told him that the criminals who attacked them used a surface-to-air missile, the type normally used to bring down aircraft

Karimi stated that when he returned to Abuja, he called the DSS State Director to encourage him and commend the operatives for their bravery. He said he also bought bulletproof vests and helmets and sent them to the DSS to support their work.
