Chief Tola Adeniyi, a columnist, and author, has disclosed that in 1976, he named a street in Ibadan after Major Kaduna Chukwuma Nzeogwu. He said he called the street Chukwuma Nzeogwu Crescent.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Edmund Obilo on his popular program, Chief Adeniyi said before the street was officially named Nzeogwu crescent, the chairman of the Ibadan Municipal Government requested for approval from Dodan Barracks which was the military headquarters at the time.

However, Adeniyi revealed that even before the approval came, he had already placed a signboard with the name Chukwuma Nzeogwu Crescent on the street.

In the words of Chief Adeniyi: “Kaduna Nzeogwu is my hero forever. In 1976 I named a street after him, Chukwuma Nzeogwu crescent. In fact, the chairman of the local government of Ibadan Municipal government could not do it. They had to get clearance from Dodan Barracks”
