Dumebi Kachikwu, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has shared his personal experience with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, while reacting to Wike’s recent clash with a naval officer, Yerima, over a disputed land.

In a video shared by SYMFONI TV, during a press briefing, Kachikwu explained how his own team once felt the weight of Wike’s intimidating presence. He recalled that on a Sunday evening, one of the FCTA directors tried to access his construction site. However, the security guards didn’t allow him in, as they were unsure why a government official would visit on a Sunday.

A couple of days later, development control officers showed up and placed a stop-work order on the site. Then, two days after that, Wike himself visited. According to Kachikwu, his workers panicked, believing that “Tsunami Wike” had come to shut everything down.

However, Kachikwu said he had all the necessary permits and forwarded the documents to Wike’s office. Surprisingly, the minister responded by apologizing and saying he had been given the wrong information.

Kachikwu said this experience made it hard for him to join the voices criticizing Wike in the Yerima saga. He believes the situation reflects how some people wait for a chance to attack public figures and create drama, especially when they feel the official can no longer defend himself.

In his words, “Minister Wike himself visited the site and at this point all my workers believed Tsunami Wike was going to wreak Havoc on us. I was very clear that I had all the necessary documentation in which I forwarded to his office and received a simple, ‘I’m sorry, but my people gave me wrong information.” View, More,
