In a candid interview on Channels TV FROM 6:20, a Rights activist, Jake Epelle addressed recurring claims that Nyesom Wike was responsible for Siminalayi Fubara’s rise to power. He recalled several instances throughout Wike’s career when he benefited from the support and opportunities provided by others, including former Governor Odili and former President Jonathan.
Epelle emphasized that while individuals may receive assistance in their ascension, it is crucial not to suppress those who have been given a chance to succeed.
He acknowledged that the backing of key political figures played a significant role in Wike’s success, from becoming Local Government Chairman and Chief of Staff under Rotimi Amaechi’s administration, to his appointments as Minister under Jonathan’s presidency and FCT Minister under President Bola Tinubu.
According to Jake Epelle, “I have heard this thing time without numbers about Siminalayi Fubara being made by Wike. Let’s go down memory lane, Wike was made by Odili, Wike became Local Government Chairman, somebody made him. Wike became Chief of Staff, Rotimi made him. Wike became Minister, Jonathan made him. He became governor, Jonathan made him. He became FCT Minister, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made him. Somebody will always give you a chance, that doesn’t mean that you will want to suffocate the person you gave a chance.”….Sêe –– Morê
