In a recent video shared by Channels TV 19:00, former Governor Nyesom Wike spoke about the situation involving Chief Sergeant Awuse, who was removed as the chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council by Governor Sim Fubara.
Wike revealed that Awuse had been seriously ill for the past six months, to the point where some people mistakenly believed he had passed away. He said Awuse has since recovered and is now healthy. He expressed concern that while Awuse was in a coma, some individuals were criticizing him and discussing his removal from the Traditional Council. He added that what matters most is that Awuse is alive and healthy,
In Wike’s words: “Let me also say Chief Awuse who has not been around for the past 6 months, most of you may not know that he was very down. It was rumoured that he has died but to the glory of God, he is back and healthy. Some of us visited him yesterday. He is one of our leaders and he stood firm.
“While Awuse was in coma somebody was abusing him and saying he has been sacked. What is important to me is that he is alive, it is not who is chairman of traditional council. So I thank all of you, continue to be peaceful and work together”….Vïêw–Môrê
