Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transportation, recently discussed his past connection with Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). In an interview with Ebere TV, Amaechi revealed that Wike served as his Chief of Staff when he was governor.

Despite this shared history, Amaechi expressed that he prefers not to mention Wike’s name, which suggests some tension or disagreement between the two.

Additionally, Amaechi emphasized his influence on politics in Rivers State, claiming, “Name any Rivers politician that didn’t pass through me.” This statement highlights his significant role in shaping the political landscape in the region.

In a recent report from Daily Post, Amaechi said, “When I became governor, Wike became Chief of Staff – but, I don’t like calling his name.”

Overall, Amaechi’s comments indicate a complicated relationship with Wike while underscoring his perceived authority in Rivers State politics.
