According to a report by CNN from 1:51, in the wake of intensifying military actions in the Middle East, senior defense experts are warning that the region has entered an increasingly perilous phase.
Retired U.S. Army Brigadier General Steve Anderson issued a stark assessment of the current security landscape, cautioning that the threat of retaliation from Tehran is both sophisticated and vast.
Appearing in a recent interview to discuss the fallout of strategic strikes, General Anderson did not mince words regarding the immediate dangers facing international forces and global shipping lanes.
“It’s not safe right now,” Anderson warned. “I mean, buckle up cuz this is going to get worse before it gets better.”
The General’s concerns center on Iran’s “asymmetric” capabilities non-traditional military tactics designed to exploit vulnerabilities through sheer volume and variety rather than conventional direct combat.
He highlighted that these threats extend across all domains, from the depths of the ocean to the skies above.
“I mean, they have the the Iranians have enormous asymmetric threats, they’ve got all these mines they could put out there, perhaps 5,000,” Anderson noted, underscoring the potential for a total blockade of critical maritime checkpoints.
Beyond the threat to shipping, the General detailed a formidable arsenal of long-range and high-impact weaponry that remains at the regime’s disposal.
