Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria’s ambassador designate to Germany and former minister for aviation has taken to his official X handle to send a strong message to the African Democratic Congress, ADC. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the ADC might not field a presidential candidate in 2027.

The recent defection of several political heavyweights to the African Democratic Congress, ADC generated mixed reactions as many believed the political landscape was experiencing a major shakeup ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.

However, Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister for aviation and Nigeria’s ambassador designate to Germany in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, made a stunning comment regarding the chances of the party.

According to his statements, he pointed out that judging from the internal crisis raising its heads within the ADC ranks, the party might not be able to field an INEC recognized presidential candidate.

He further warned that supporting the ADC or aligning with them may ultimately end in futility, as he believed that the party was headed for doom. He also described the road to joining the ADC as not only dangerous, but thorny.

However, in his usual manner, the former aviation minister admonished members of the ADC to forsake their differences, avoid getting involved in unnecessary court battles, or face being disgraced in 2027.
